In 2012, Russia’s trade with Abkhazia was $292,204,494, down 4.52% ($13,822,515) from 2011.

Russia’s exports to Abkhazia in 2012 were $234,420,725, down 8.16% ($20,830,265) from 2011.

Russia’s imports from Abkhazia in 2012 totaled $57,783,769, up 13.80% ($7,007,750) from 2011.

Russia’s trade surplus with Abkhazia in 2012 was $176,636,956, a 13.61% decrease ($27,838,015) over 2011.

Abkhazia was Russia’s 86th largest trading partner in 2012 (up from 92nd in 2011), accounting for 0.0347% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0372% in 2011).

Abkhazia was Russia’s 81st largest export market in 2012 (down from 79th in 2011), accounting for 0.0447% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0494% in 2011).

Abkhazia was Russia’s 92nd largest supplier in 2012 (up from 93rd in 2011), accounting for 0.0182% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0166% in 2011).

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 22.55% of Russia’s total exports to Abkhazia (19.15% in 2011);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 14.32% of Russia’s total exports to Abkhazia (17.33% in 2011);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 10.61% of Russia’s total exports to Abkhazia (8.55% in 2011);

  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - an increase of $784,293;

  • Miscellaneous manufactured articles (HS code 96) - an increase of $729,631;
  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - an increase of $707,996.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Abkhazia in 2012 over 2011 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $11,256,430;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $6,360,642;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $4,035,126;
