Russia’s Trade with Argentina

In 2012, Russia’s trade with Argentina was $1,571,011,004, down 16.10% ($301,568,734) from 2011.

Russia’s exports to Argentina in 2012 were $307,013,979, down 61.91% ($499,017,901) from 2011.

Russia’s imports from Argentina in 2012 totaled $1,263,997,025, up 18.51% ($197,449,167) from 2011.

Russia’s trade deficit with Argentina in 2012 was $956,983,046, a 267.34% increase ($696,467,068) over 2011.

Argentina was Russia’s 58th largest trading partner in 2012 (down from 50th in 2011), accounting for 0.1866% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.2277% in 2011).

Argentina was Russia’s 74th largest export market in 2012 (down from 60th in 2011), accounting for 0.0585% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1560% in 2011).

Argentina was Russia’s 38th largest supplier in 2012 (up from 41st in 2011), accounting for 0.3984% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.3488% in 2011).

Russia’s Exports to Argentina

The major share of Russian exports to Argentina in 2012 (and in 2011) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 61.79% of Russia’s total exports to Argentina (63.94% in 2011);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 32.79% of Russia’s total exports to Argentina (29.93% in 2011);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 3.02% of Russia’s total exports to Argentina (0.89% in 2011);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.95% of Russia’s total exports to Argentina (0.59% in 2011);

  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $1,492,363.

Russia’s Imports from Argentina

The major share of Russian imports from Argentina in 2012 (and in 2011) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 75.34% of Russia’s total imports from Argentina (79.57% in 2011);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 14.44% of Russia’s total imports from Argentina (12.01% in 2011);
