Russia’s Trade with Colombia

In 2012, Russia’s trade with Colombia totaled $462,107,624, up 45.66% ($144,848,471) from 2011.

Russia’s exports to Colombia in 2012 totaled $289,580,971, up 81.97% ($130,447,286) from 2011.

Russia’s imports from Colombia in 2012 totaled $172,526,653, up 9.11% ($14,401,185) from 2011.

Russia’s trade surplus with Colombia in 2012 was $117,054,318, a 11,510.03% increase ($116,046,101) over 2011.

Colombia was Russia’s 81st largest trading partner in 2012 (up from 91st in 2011), accounting for 0.0549% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0386% in 2011).

Colombia was Russia’s 75th largest export market in 2012 (up from 89th in 2011), accounting for 0.0552% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0308% in 2011).

Colombia was Russia’s 74th largest supplier in 2012 (just as in 2011), accounting for 0.0544% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0517% in 2011).

Russia’s Exports to Colombia

The major share of Russian exports to Colombia in 2012 (and in 2011) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 57.08% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (68.84% in 2011);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 27.75% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (17.53% in 2011);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 10.75% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (9.57% in 2011);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 1.63% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (0.80% in 2011).

  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $6,892,429;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $5,326,115;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $3,663,448;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - an increase of $3,457,275.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Colombia in 2012 over 2011 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $1,220,281.

Russia’s Imports from Colombia

The major share of Russian imports from Colombia in 2012 (and in 2011) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 90.99% of Russia’s total imports from Colombia (90.67% in 2011);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 5.70% of Russia’s total imports from Colombia (5.65% in 2011).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Colombia in 2012 over 2011 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Live trees and other plants; bulbs, roots and the like; cut flowers and ornamental foliage (HS code 06) - an increase of $5,049,335;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - an increase of $4,142,350;
