Russia’s imports from Mozambique in 2012 totaled $66,155,312, up 33.03% ($16,427,207) from 2011.

Russia’s trade deficit with Mozambique in 2012 was $46,478,512, a 181.42% increase ($29,962,981) over 2011.

Mozambique was Russia’s 119th largest trading partner in 2012 (up from 120th in 2011), accounting for 0.0102% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0101% in 2011).

Mozambique was Russia’s 124th largest export market in 2012 (down from 121st in 2011), accounting for 0.0037% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0064% in 2011).

Mozambique was Russia’s 90th largest supplier in 2012 (up from 96th in 2011), accounting for 0.0209% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0163% in 2011).

Russia’s Imports from Mozambique

The major share of Russian imports from Mozambique in 2012 (and in 2011) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 72.51% of Russia’s total imports from Mozambique (84.24% in 2011);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 27.48% of Russia’s total imports from Mozambique (15.58% in 2011).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Mozambique in 2012 over 2011 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Ores, slag and ash (HS code 26) - an increase of $10,434,625;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $5,870,621;
