Russia’s Trade with Portugal

In 2012, Russia’s trade with Portugal totaled $1,078,103,116, up 56.69% ($390,042,772) from 2011.

Russia’s exports to Portugal in 2012 totaled $499,702,426, up 154.51% ($303,364,634) from 2011.

Russia’s imports from Portugal in 2012 totaled $578,400,690, up 17.63% ($86,678,138) from 2011.

Russia’s trade deficit with Portugal in 2012 was $78,698,264, a 73.36% decrease ($216,686,496) over 2011.

Portugal was Russia’s 66th largest trading partner in 2012 (up from 74th in 2011), accounting for 0.1280% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0837% in 2011).

Portugal was Russia’s 63rd largest export market in 2012 (up from 84th in 2011), accounting for 0.0952% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0380% in 2011).

Portugal was Russia’s 51st largest supplier in 2012 (just as in 2011), accounting for 0.1823% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1608% in 2011).

Russia’s Exports to Portugal

The major share of Russian exports to Portugal in 2012 (and in 2011) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 74.48% of Russia’s total exports to Portugal (47.95% in 2011);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 9.88% of Russia’s total exports to Portugal (17.56% in 2011);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 6.39% of Russia’s total exports to Portugal (14.00% in 2011);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 5.98% of Russia’s total exports to Portugal (13.25% in 2011);
