In 2012, Russia’s trade with Qatar was $40,025,816, down 26.67% ($14,558,145) from 2011.

Russia’s exports to Qatar in 2012 were $4,319,798, down 53.88% ($5,046,870) from 2011.

Russia’s imports from Qatar in 2012 were $35,706,018, down 21.03% ($9,511,275) from 2011.

Russia’s trade deficit with Qatar in 2012 was $31,386,220, a 12.45% decrease ($4,464,405) over 2011.

Qatar was Russia’s 132nd largest trading partner in 2012 (down from 131st in 2011), accounting for 0.0048% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0066% in 2011).

Qatar was Russia’s 146th largest export market in 2012 (down from 132nd in 2011), accounting for 0.0008% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0018% in 2011).

Qatar was Russia’s 99th largest supplier in 2012 (just as in 2011), accounting for 0.0113% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0148% in 2011).

Russia’s Exports to Qatar

The major share of Russian exports to Qatar in 2012 (and in 2011) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 12.58% of Russia’s total exports to Qatar (6.43% in 2011);

  • Printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry; manuscripts, typescripts and plans (HS code 49) - an increase of $21,675;
  • Preparations of cereals, flour, starch or milk; bakers’ wares (HS code 19) - an increase of $17,838.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Qatar in 2012 over 2011 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $1,316,390;

  • Miscellaneous articles of base metal (HS code 83) - a decrease of $95,303;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $80,350;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $50,680;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - a decrease of $24,750;
  • Man-made staple fibers (HS code 55) - a decrease of $24,365.
