Russia’s Trade with Singapore

In 2012, Russia’s trade with Singapore was $2,003,376,267, down 24.00% ($632,654,832) from 2011.

Russia’s exports to Singapore in 2012 were $1,589,451,731, down 29.37% ($660,827,023) from 2011.

Russia’s imports from Singapore in 2012 totaled $413,924,536, up 7.30% ($28,172,191) from 2011.

Russia’s trade surplus with Singapore in 2012 was $1,175,527,195, a 36.95% decrease ($688,999,214) over 2011.

Singapore was Russia’s 48th largest trading partner in 2012 (down from 42nd in 2011), accounting for 0.2379% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.3205% in 2011).

Singapore was Russia’s 45th largest export market in 2012 (down from 33rd in 2011), accounting for 0.3029% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.4355% in 2011).

Singapore was Russia’s 60th largest supplier in 2012 (down from 59th in 2011), accounting for 0.1305% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1262% in 2011).

Russia’s Exports to Singapore

The major share of Russian exports to Singapore in 2012 (and in 2011) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 95.77% of Russia’s total exports to Singapore (91.82% in 2011);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.21% of Russia’s total exports to Singapore (5.03% in 2011);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.25% of Russia’s total exports to Singapore (1.11% in 2011);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 0.46% of Russia’s total exports to Singapore (1.65% in 2011).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Singapore in 2012 over 2011 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Ores, slag and ash (HS code 26) - an increase of $10,072,587;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $9,231,272;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $8,797,992.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Singapore in 2012 over 2011 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $554,184,314;
  • Ships, boats and floating structures (HS code 89) - a decrease of $76,708,075;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $24,627,934;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $9,151,106;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $7,889,789.
