In 2012, Russia’s trade with Tunisia was $594,172,804, down 48.58% ($561,251,978) from 2011.

Russia’s exports to Tunisia in 2012 were $491,639,697, down 53.39% ($563,156,121) from 2011.

Russia’s imports from Tunisia in 2012 totaled $102,533,107, up 1.89% ($1,904,143) from 2011.

Russia’s trade surplus with Tunisia in 2012 was $389,106,590, a 59.22% decrease ($565,060,264) over 2011.

Tunisia was Russia’s 77th largest trading partner in 2012 (down from 65th in 2011), accounting for 0.0706% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1405% in 2011).

Tunisia was Russia’s 65th largest export market in 2012 (down from 56th in 2011), accounting for 0.0937% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.2041% in 2011).

Tunisia was Russia’s 81st largest supplier in 2012 (up from 82nd in 2011), accounting for 0.0323% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0329% in 2011).

Russia’s Exports to Tunisia

The major share of Russian exports to Tunisia in 2012 (and in 2011) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 72.99% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (79.61% in 2011);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 15.05% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (13.04% in 2011);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 8.11% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (5.09% in 2011);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.69% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (1.52% in 2011);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.08% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (0.67% in 2011).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Tunisia in 2012 over 2011 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $3,309,524.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Tunisia in 2012 over 2011 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Products of the milling industry; malt; starches; inulin; wheat gluten (HS code 11) - a decrease of $41,418,160;

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 14.49% of Russia’s total imports from Tunisia (14.11% in 2011);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 14.31% of Russia’s total imports from Tunisia (8.14% in 2011).
