In 2013, Russia’s trade with Afghanistan was $645,253,757, down 32.08% ($304,721,788) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Afghanistan in 2013 were $630,974,180, down 32.78% ($307,697,186) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Afghanistan in 2013 totaled $14,279,577, up 26.32% ($2,975,398) from 2012.

Russia’s trade surplus with Afghanistan in 2013 was $616,694,603, a 33.50% decrease ($310,672,584) over 2012.

Afghanistan was Russia’s 79th largest trading partner in 2013 (down from 69th in 2012), accounting for 0.0766% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1128% in 2012).

Afghanistan was Russia’s 66th largest export market in 2013 (down from 56th in 2012), accounting for 0.1197% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1789% in 2012).

Afghanistan was Russia’s 116th largest supplier in 2013 (down from 115th in 2012), accounting for 0.0045% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0036% in 2012).

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 0.39% of Russia’s total imports from Afghanistan (1.45% in 2012).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Afghanistan in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - an increase of $2,011,235;
  • Edible fruit and nuts; peel of citrus fruit or melons (HS code 08) - an increase of $863,741.
