In 2013, Russia’s trade with Colombia was $376,980,168, down 18.42% ($85,127,456) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Colombia in 2013 were $230,016,783, down 20.57% ($59,564,188) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Colombia in 2013 were $146,963,385, down 14.82% ($25,563,268) from 2012.

Russia’s trade surplus with Colombia in 2013 was $83,053,398, a 29.05% decrease ($34,000,920) over 2012.

Colombia was Russia’s 88th largest trading partner in 2013 (down from 81st in 2012), accounting for 0.0448% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0549% in 2012).

Colombia was Russia’s 84th largest export market in 2013 (down from 75th in 2012), accounting for 0.0436% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0552% in 2012).

Colombia was Russia’s 76th largest supplier in 2013 (down from 74th in 2012), accounting for 0.0467% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0544% in 2012).

Russia’s Exports to Colombia

The major share of Russian exports to Colombia in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 49.54% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (57.08% in 2012);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 18.65% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (10.75% in 2012);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 14.77% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (27.75% in 2012);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 12.82% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (1.63% in 2012).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Colombia in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $28,566,399;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $8,909,944;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $1,890,982;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $730,202.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Colombia in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $49,176,005;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $45,048,958;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $3,821,597;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $2,287,544;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $1,619,466;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $710,635.

The major share of Russian imports from Colombia in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 88.54% of Russia’s total imports from Colombia (90.99% in 2012);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 6.17% of Russia’s total imports from Colombia (5.70% in 2012);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 2.53% of Russia’s total imports from Colombia (0.34% in 2012).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Colombia in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - an increase of $2,988,769;

  • Coffee, tea, maté and spices (HS code 09) - a decrease of $1,257,874;
  • Meat and edible meat offal (HS code 02) - a decrease of $849,403;
