Russia’s Trade with Cyprus

In 2013, Russia’s trade with Cyprus was $1,965,941,949, down 6.37% ($133,808,189) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Cyprus in 2013 were $1,923,269,311, down 6.96% ($143,798,760) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Cyprus in 2013 totaled $42,672,638, up 30.57% ($9,990,571) from 2012.

Russia’s trade surplus with Cyprus in 2013 was $1,880,596,673, a 7.56% decrease ($153,789,331) over 2012.

Cyprus was Russia’s 51st largest trading partner in 2013 (down from 46th in 2012), accounting for 0.2334% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.2494% in 2012).

Cyprus was Russia’s 40th largest export market in 2013 (down from 36th in 2012), accounting for 0.3648% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.3939% in 2012).

Cyprus was Russia’s 94th largest supplier in 2013 (up from 102nd in 2012), accounting for 0.0135% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0103% in 2012).

Russia’s Exports to Cyprus

The major share of Russian exports to Cyprus in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 81.82% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (82.25% in 2012);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 13.28% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (13.24% in 2012);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 2.44% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (1.69% in 2012);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.51% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (0.62% in 2012).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Cyprus in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Ships, boats and floating structures (HS code 89) - an increase of $11,751,538;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $10,276,894.

Russia’s Imports from Cyprus

The major share of Russian imports from Cyprus in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 56.50% of Russia’s total imports from Cyprus (61.56% in 2012);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 24.81% of Russia’s total imports from Cyprus (28.89% in 2012);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 16.52% of Russia’s total imports from Cyprus (4.67% in 2012);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 1.15% of Russia’s total imports from Cyprus (1.25% in 2012).
