Russia’s Trade with Hong Kong

In 2013, Russia’s trade with Hong Kong totaled $3,198,381,333, up 113.29% ($1,698,814,265) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Hong Kong in 2013 totaled $3,026,196,949, up 114.51% ($1,615,436,813) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Hong Kong in 2013 totaled $172,184,384, up 93.89% ($83,377,452) from 2012.

Russia’s trade surplus with Hong Kong in 2013 was $2,854,012,565, a 115.89% increase ($1,532,059,361) over 2012.

Hong Kong was Russia’s 39th largest trading partner in 2013 (up from 60th in 2012), accounting for 0.3798% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.1781% in 2012).

Hong Kong was Russia’s 30th largest export market in 2013 (up from 48th in 2012), accounting for 0.5739% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.2689% in 2012).

Hong Kong was Russia’s 74th largest supplier in 2013 (up from 84th in 2012), accounting for 0.0547% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0280% in 2012).

The major share of Russian exports to Hong Kong in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 78.86% of Russia’s total exports to Hong Kong (58.27% in 2012);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 9.88% of Russia’s total exports to Hong Kong (23.13% in 2012);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 5.69% of Russia’s total exports to Hong Kong (10.49% in 2012);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.86% of Russia’s total exports to Hong Kong (3.44% in 2012);
