Russia’s Trade with Italy

In 2013, Russia’s trade with Italy totaled $53,867,957,409, up 17.79% ($8,134,740,278) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Italy in 2013 totaled $39,314,009,585, up 21.71% ($7,012,934,919) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Italy in 2013 totaled $14,553,947,824, up 8.35% ($1,121,805,359) from 2012.

Russia’s trade surplus with Italy in 2013 was $24,760,061,761, a 31.22% increase ($5,891,129,560) over 2012.

Italy was Russia’s 4th largest trading partner in 2013 (just as in 2012), accounting for 6.3958% of Russia’s total trade (up from 5.4315% in 2012).

Italy was Russia’s 2nd largest export market in 2013 (up from 4th in 2012), accounting for 7.4562% of Russia’s total exports (up from 6.1557% in 2012).

Italy was Russia’s 5th largest supplier in 2013 (up from 8th in 2012), accounting for 4.6208% of Russia’s total imports (up from 4.2338% in 2012).

Russia’s Exports to Italy

The major share of Russian exports to Italy in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 88.50% of Russia’s total exports to Italy (82.92% in 2012);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 6.68% of Russia’s total exports to Italy (12.13% in 2012);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 2.62% of Russia’s total exports to Italy (2.58% in 2012);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 0.73% of Russia’s total exports to Italy (1.10% in 2012).

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 16.88% of Russia’s total imports from Italy (15.49% in 2012);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 9.90% of Russia’s total imports from Italy (9.56% in 2012);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 6.63% of Russia’s total imports from Italy (6.77% in 2012);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 6.48% of Russia’s total imports from Italy (6.42% in 2012);
