In 2013, Russia’s trade with Kuwait was $33,952,462, down 59.06% ($48,975,399) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Kuwait in 2013 were $32,416,397, down 59.91% ($48,438,651) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Kuwait in 2013 were $1,536,065, down 25.89% ($536,748) from 2012.

Russia’s trade surplus with Kuwait in 2013 was $30,880,332, a 60.80% decrease ($47,901,903) over 2012.

Kuwait was Russia’s 133rd largest trading partner in 2013 (down from 120th in 2012), accounting for 0.0040% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0098% in 2012).

Kuwait was Russia’s 122nd largest export market in 2013 (down from 105th in 2012), accounting for 0.0061% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0154% in 2012).

Kuwait was Russia’s 149th largest supplier in 2013 (down from 138th in 2012), accounting for 0.0005% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0007% in 2012).

Russia’s Exports to Kuwait

The major share of Russian exports to Kuwait in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 75.59% of Russia’s total exports to Kuwait (13.23% in 2012);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 20.86% of Russia’s total exports to Kuwait (9.18% in 2012);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.66% of Russia’s total exports to Kuwait (0.28% in 2012);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 0.94% of Russia’s total exports to Kuwait (75.21% in 2012);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 0.25% of Russia’s total exports to Kuwait (1.63% in 2012).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Kuwait in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $286,576;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $264,439;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $248,689;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $167,682.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Kuwait in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $60,401,850;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $2,609,439;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $1,101,121;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $890,765;
  • Preparations of cereals, flour, starch or milk; bakers’ wares (HS code 19) - a decrease of $196,146;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $169,734;
  • Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - a decrease of $166,523.

Russia’s Imports from Kuwait

The major share of Russian imports from Kuwait in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 99.40% of Russia’s total imports from Kuwait (96.15% in 2012).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Kuwait in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - an increase of $398,421;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $6,531.

The largest declines in Russia’s imports from Kuwait in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $864,442;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $13,218;
