In 2013, Russia’s trade with Lebanon totaled $530,135,193, up 162.18% ($327,936,094) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Lebanon in 2013 totaled $512,922,657, up 170.64% ($323,397,396) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Lebanon in 2013 totaled $17,212,536, up 35.81% ($4,538,698) from 2012.

Russia’s trade surplus with Lebanon in 2013 was $495,710,121, a 180.30% increase ($318,858,698) over 2012.

Lebanon was Russia’s 82nd largest trading partner in 2013 (up from 97th in 2012), accounting for 0.0629% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0240% in 2012).

Lebanon was Russia’s 68th largest export market in 2013 (up from 87th in 2012), accounting for 0.0973% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0361% in 2012).

Lebanon was Russia’s 110th largest supplier in 2013 (up from 113th in 2012), accounting for 0.0055% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0040% in 2012).

Russia’s Exports to Lebanon

The major share of Russian exports to Lebanon in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 75.35% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (29.46% in 2012);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 14.82% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (37.45% in 2012);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 7.22% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (14.11% in 2012);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 1.46% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (15.63% in 2012);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 0.94% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (2.36% in 2012).

  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $9,884,773;
  • Printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry; manuscripts, typescripts and plans (HS code 49) - an increase of $5,316,918;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $4,755,922;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $2,469,848.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Lebanon in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $22,120,318;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $5,169,636;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $4,391,953;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $2,620,272.

Russia’s Imports from Lebanon

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 11.03% of Russia’s total imports from Lebanon (11.32% in 2012);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 10.38% of Russia’s total imports from Lebanon (20.11% in 2012);
