Russia’s Trade with Morocco

In 2013, Russia’s trade with Morocco was $1,425,533,062, down 22.87% ($422,702,718) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Morocco in 2013 were $859,952,231, down 34.21% ($447,200,724) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Morocco in 2013 totaled $565,580,831, up 4.53% ($24,498,006) from 2012.

Russia’s trade surplus with Morocco in 2013 was $294,371,400, a 61.57% decrease ($471,698,730) over 2012.

Morocco was Russia’s 64th largest trading partner in 2013 (down from 51st in 2012), accounting for 0.1693% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.2195% in 2012).

Morocco was Russia’s 57th largest export market in 2013 (down from 51st in 2012), accounting for 0.1631% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.2491% in 2012).

Morocco was Russia’s 56th largest supplier in 2013 (down from 53rd in 2012), accounting for 0.1796% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1705% in 2012).

Russia’s Exports to Morocco

The major share of Russian exports to Morocco in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 89.59% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (90.28% in 2012);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 6.66% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (2.92% in 2012);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 3.09% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (6.42% in 2012).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Morocco in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $17,865,464;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $5,059,446;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $2,986,082.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Morocco in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $355,385,908;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $56,374,340;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $54,323,274.

Russia’s Imports from Morocco

The major share of Russian imports from Morocco in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 72.22% of Russia’s total imports from Morocco (72.60% in 2012);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 24.82% of Russia’s total imports from Morocco (22.82% in 2012);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 1.75% of Russia’s total imports from Morocco (3.75% in 2012).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Morocco in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - an increase of $13,838,859;
  • Articles of apparel and clothing accessories, not knitted or crocheted (HS code 62) - an increase of $10,433,059;
  • Footwear, gaiters and the like; parts of such articles (HS code 64) - an increase of $4,445,254;
  • Articles of apparel and clothing accessories, knitted or crocheted (HS code 61) - an increase of $2,193,398.

The largest declines in Russia’s imports from Morocco in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $10,483,597.
