In 2013, Russia’s trade with Nigeria totaled $299,113,183, up 34.04% ($75,961,567) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Nigeria in 2013 totaled $267,881,789, up 35.39% ($70,024,361) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Nigeria in 2013 totaled $31,231,394, up 23.47% ($5,937,206) from 2012.

Russia’s trade surplus with Nigeria in 2013 was $236,650,395, a 37.14% increase ($64,087,155) over 2012.

Nigeria was Russia’s 93rd largest trading partner in 2013 (down from 92nd in 2012), accounting for 0.0355% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0265% in 2012).

Nigeria was Russia’s 80th largest export market in 2013 (up from 86th in 2012), accounting for 0.0508% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0377% in 2012).

Nigeria was Russia’s 100th largest supplier in 2013 (up from 104th in 2012), accounting for 0.0099% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0080% in 2012).

Russia’s Exports to Nigeria

The major share of Russian exports to Nigeria in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 54.34% of Russia’s total exports to Nigeria (49.97% in 2012);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 23.10% of Russia’s total exports to Nigeria (14.24% in 2012);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 12.68% of Russia’s total exports to Nigeria (22.04% in 2012);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 7.65% of Russia’s total exports to Nigeria (8.57% in 2012);

Russia’s Imports from Nigeria

The major share of Russian imports from Nigeria in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 96.00% of Russia’s total imports from Nigeria (97.98% in 2012);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 3.54% of Russia’s total imports from Nigeria (2.01% in 2012).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Nigeria in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - an increase of $3,633,160;
  • Oil seeds and oleaginous fruits; miscellaneous grains, seeds and fruits; industrial or medicinal plants; straw and fodder (HS code 12) - an increase of $1,189,147;
