Russia’s Trade with Peru

In 2013, Russia’s trade with Peru totaled $503,506,691, up 11.42% ($51,623,721) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Peru in 2013 totaled $400,616,614, up 11.66% ($41,825,610) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Peru in 2013 totaled $102,890,077, up 10.53% ($9,798,111) from 2012.

Russia’s trade surplus with Peru in 2013 was $297,726,537, a 12.05% increase ($32,027,499) over 2012.

Peru was Russia’s 83rd largest trading partner in 2013 (just as in 2012), accounting for 0.0598% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0537% in 2012).

Peru was Russia’s 71st largest export market in 2013 (down from 70th in 2012), accounting for 0.0760% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0684% in 2012).

Peru was Russia’s 84th largest supplier in 2013 (down from 82nd in 2012), accounting for 0.0327% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0293% in 2012).

The major share of Russian exports to Peru in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 56.36% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (53.85% in 2012);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 21.19% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (8.34% in 2012);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 10.33% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (1.39% in 2012);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.68% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (5.95% in 2012);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 1.85% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (12.39% in 2012).

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $34,804,142;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $1,484,270.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Peru in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $35,944,231;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $7,351,626;
  • Ores, slag and ash (HS code 26) - a decrease of $4,246,641;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $2,939,296;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $1,368,011.
