Russia’s exports to Puerto Rico in 2013 totaled $41,951,181, up 1,474.35% ($39,286,509) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Puerto Rico in 2013 totaled $215,707,781, up 16.13% ($29,968,338) from 2012.

Russia’s trade deficit with Puerto Rico in 2013 was $173,756,600, a 5.09% decrease ($9,318,171) over 2012.

Puerto Rico was Russia’s 95th largest trading partner in 2013 (up from 98th in 2012), accounting for 0.0306% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0224% in 2012).

Puerto Rico was Russia’s 118th largest export market in 2013 (up from 151st in 2012), accounting for 0.0080% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0005% in 2012).

Russia’s Imports from Puerto Rico

The major share of Russian imports from Puerto Rico in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 76.80% of Russia’s total imports from Puerto Rico (78.07% in 2012);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 20.24% of Russia’s total imports from Puerto Rico (19.01% in 2012);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.25% of Russia’s total imports from Puerto Rico (2.03% in 2012).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Puerto Rico in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - an increase of $19,600,109;
  • Beverages, spirits and vinegar (HS code 22) - an increase of $8,330,401;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $1,408,756.
