Russia’s Trade with Switzerland

In 2013, Russia’s trade with Switzerland was $11,775,942,791, down 12.90% ($1,743,995,860) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Switzerland in 2013 were $8,792,447,754, down 16.45% ($1,730,956,874) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Switzerland in 2013 were $2,983,495,037, down 0.44% ($13,038,986) from 2012.

Russia’s trade surplus with Switzerland in 2013 was $5,808,952,717, a 22.82% decrease ($1,717,917,888) over 2012.

Switzerland was Russia’s 16th largest trading partner in 2013 (just as in 2012), accounting for 1.3982% of Russia’s total trade (down from 1.6057% in 2012).

Switzerland was Russia’s 17th largest export market in 2013 (down from 16th in 2012), accounting for 1.6676% of Russia’s total exports (down from 2.0055% in 2012).

Switzerland was Russia’s 25th largest supplier in 2013 (just as in 2012), accounting for 0.9472% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.9445% in 2012).

Russia’s Exports to Switzerland

The major share of Russian exports to Switzerland in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 50.19% of Russia’s total exports to Switzerland (59.30% in 2012);
  • Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 39.47% of Russia’s total exports to Switzerland (30.18% in 2012);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 6.73% of Russia’s total exports to Switzerland (5.46% in 2012);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 1.60% of Russia’s total exports to Switzerland (3.37% in 2012).

The major share of Russian imports from Switzerland in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 42.64% of Russia’s total imports from Switzerland (44.23% in 2012);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 32.24% of Russia’s total imports from Switzerland (33.80% in 2012);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 9.46% of Russia’s total imports from Switzerland (7.06% in 2012);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 3.56% of Russia’s total imports from Switzerland (3.06% in 2012);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.45% of Russia’s total imports from Switzerland (1.62% in 2012).
