In 2013, Russia’s trade with Ukraine was $39,603,471,174, down 12.31% ($5,558,145,276) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Ukraine in 2013 were $23,812,581,145, down 12.50% ($3,402,476,432) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Ukraine in 2013 were $15,790,890,029, down 12.01% ($2,155,668,844) from 2012.

Russia’s trade surplus with Ukraine in 2013 was $8,021,691,116, a 13.45% decrease ($1,246,807,588) over 2012.

Ukraine was Russia’s 5th largest trading partner in 2013 (just as in 2012), accounting for 4.7022% of Russia’s total trade (down from 5.3636% in 2012).

Ukraine was Russia’s 6th largest export market in 2013 (just as in 2012), accounting for 4.5162% of Russia’s total exports (down from 5.1864% in 2012).

The major share of Russian exports to Ukraine in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 13.56% of Russia’s total exports to Ukraine (11.60% in 2012);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 12.93% of Russia’s total exports to Ukraine (10.85% in 2012);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 5.46% of Russia’s total exports to Ukraine (6.22% in 2012);
