Russia’s Trade with Vietnam

In 2013, Russia’s trade with Vietnam totaled $3,970,456,082, up 8.45% ($309,429,735) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Vietnam in 2013 were $1,373,461,318, down 1.09% ($15,079,698) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Vietnam in 2013 totaled $2,596,994,764, up 14.28% ($324,509,433) from 2012.

Russia’s trade deficit with Vietnam in 2013 was $1,223,533,446, a 38.42% increase ($339,589,131) over 2012.

Vietnam was Russia’s 33rd largest trading partner in 2013 (up from 34th in 2012), accounting for 0.4714% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.4348% in 2012).

Vietnam was Russia’s 47th largest export market in 2013 (up from 49th in 2012), accounting for 0.2605% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.2646% in 2012).

Vietnam was Russia’s 26th largest supplier in 2013 (up from 27th in 2012), accounting for 0.8245% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.7163% in 2012).

Russia’s Exports to Vietnam

The major share of Russian exports to Vietnam in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 48.13% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (30.41% in 2012);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 7.68% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (3.02% in 2012);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 6.63% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (12.70% in 2012);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 5.19% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (5.65% in 2012);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 4.88% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (1.11% in 2012);

  • Printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry; manuscripts, typescripts and plans (HS code 49) - an increase of $43,747,191;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $10,937,102;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $9,756,908;

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $16,860,827;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $8,524,345;
  • Sugars and sugar confectionery (HS code 17) - a decrease of $5,839,340;
