Russia’s Trade with Argentina

In 2014, Russia’s trade with Argentina was $1,338,170,098, down 10.80% ($162,063,176) from 2013.

Russia’s exports to Argentina in 2014 were $221,532,419, down 44.63% ($178,596,387) from 2013.

Russia’s imports from Argentina in 2014 totaled $1,116,637,679, up 1.50% ($16,533,211) from 2013.

Russia’s trade deficit with Argentina in 2014 was $895,105,260, a 27.88% increase ($195,129,598) over 2013.

Argentina was Russia’s 62nd largest trading partner in 2014 (just as in 2013), accounting for 0.1709% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1781% in 2013).

Argentina was Russia’s 88th largest export market in 2014 (down from 72nd in 2013), accounting for 0.0446% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0759% in 2013).

Argentina was Russia’s 41st largest supplier in 2014 (up from 43rd in 2013), accounting for 0.3905% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.3493% in 2013).

Russia’s Exports to Argentina

The major share of Russian exports to Argentina in 2014 (and in 2013) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 51.47% of Russia’s total exports to Argentina (23.33% in 2013);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 40.10% of Russia’s total exports to Argentina (65.14% in 2013);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 4.24% of Russia’s total exports to Argentina (2.20% in 2013);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.80% of Russia’s total exports to Argentina (8.10% in 2013);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.27% of Russia’s total exports to Argentina (0.80% in 2013).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Argentina in 2014 over 2013 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $174,563,969;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $14,778,424;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $8,787,532;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $1,617,485;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $1,007,184.

Russia’s Imports from Argentina
