In 2014, Russia’s trade with Bangladesh totaled $896,573,443, up 5.76% ($48,837,727) from 2013.

Russia’s exports to Bangladesh in 2014 were $234,219,843, down 8.63% ($22,114,289) from 2013.

Russia’s imports from Bangladesh in 2014 totaled $662,353,600, up 12.00% ($70,952,016) from 2013.

Russia’s trade deficit with Bangladesh in 2014 was $428,133,757, a 27.78% increase ($93,066,305) over 2013.

Bangladesh was Russia’s 70th largest trading partner in 2014 (up from 72nd in 2013), accounting for 0.1145% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.1007% in 2013).

Bangladesh was Russia’s 84th largest export market in 2014 (down from 81st in 2013), accounting for 0.0471% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0486% in 2013).

Bangladesh was Russia’s 49th largest supplier in 2014 (up from 55th in 2013), accounting for 0.2316% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1878% in 2013).

Russia’s Exports to Bangladesh

The major share of Russian exports to Bangladesh in 2014 (and in 2013) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 23.84% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (18.74% in 2013);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 18.70% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (22.60% in 2013);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 17.72% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (21.53% in 2013);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 17.46% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (0.35% in 2013);

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Bangladesh in 2014 over 2013 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $36,614,736;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $17,258,453;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $14,120,093;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $1,790,038;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $1,323,699.

Russia’s Imports from Bangladesh
