Russia’s Trade with Morocco

In 2014, Russia’s trade with Morocco totaled $1,543,226,208, up 8.26% ($117,693,146) from 2013.

Russia’s exports to Morocco in 2014 totaled $935,033,493, up 8.73% ($75,081,262) from 2013.

Russia’s imports from Morocco in 2014 totaled $608,192,715, up 7.53% ($42,611,884) from 2013.

Russia’s trade surplus with Morocco in 2014 was $326,840,778, a 11.03% increase ($32,469,378) over 2013.

Morocco was Russia’s 56th largest trading partner in 2014 (up from 64th in 2013), accounting for 0.1971% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.1693% in 2013).

Morocco was Russia’s 58th largest export market in 2014 (down from 57th in 2013), accounting for 0.1882% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1631% in 2013).

Morocco was Russia’s 53rd largest supplier in 2014 (up from 56th in 2013), accounting for 0.2127% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1796% in 2013).

Russia’s Exports to Morocco

The major share of Russian exports to Morocco in 2014 (and in 2013) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 74.98% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (89.59% in 2013);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 15.92% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (3.09% in 2013);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 6.25% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (6.66% in 2013);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 2.10% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (0.21% in 2013).

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $17,728,622;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $3,339,939.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Morocco in 2014 over 2013 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $119,657,007;
  • Residues and waste from the food industries; prepared animal feed (HS code 23) - a decrease of $5,813,114;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $5,291,889.

Russia’s Imports from Morocco

The major share of Russian imports from Morocco in 2014 (and in 2013) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 71.18% of Russia’s total imports from Morocco (72.22% in 2013);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 22.25% of Russia’s total imports from Morocco (24.82% in 2013);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 1.22% of Russia’s total imports from Morocco (1.75% in 2013).

The largest declines in Russia’s imports from Morocco in 2014 over 2013 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Residues and waste from the food industries; prepared animal feed (HS code 23) - a decrease of $18,247,023;
  • Footwear, gaiters and the like; parts of such articles (HS code 64) - a decrease of $10,884,587;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $2,735,823.
