Russia’s Trade with Venezuela

In 2014, Russia’s trade with Venezuela was $1,217,665,610, down 50.31% ($1,232,966,880) from 2013.

Russia’s exports to Venezuela in 2014 were $1,214,462,059, down 50.36% ($1,232,068,356) from 2013.

Russia’s imports from Venezuela in 2014 were $3,203,551, down 21.90% ($898,524) from 2013.

Russia’s trade surplus with Venezuela in 2014 was $1,211,258,508, a 50.41% decrease ($1,231,169,832) over 2013.

Venezuela was Russia’s 64th largest trading partner in 2014 (down from 46th in 2013), accounting for 0.1555% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.2910% in 2013).

Venezuela was Russia’s 51st largest export market in 2014 (down from 34th in 2013), accounting for 0.2444% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.4640% in 2013).

Venezuela was Russia’s 135th largest supplier in 2014 (down from 132nd in 2013), accounting for 0.0011% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0013% in 2013).

Russia’s Exports to Venezuela

The major share of Russian exports to Venezuela in 2014 (and in 2013) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 22.83% of Russia’s total exports to Venezuela (35.79% in 2013);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 9.49% of Russia’s total exports to Venezuela (4.68% in 2013);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 2.11% of Russia’s total exports to Venezuela (0.21% in 2013).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Venezuela in 2014 over 2013 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $23,761,955;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $7,668,708.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Venezuela in 2014 over 2013 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 24.14% of Russia’s total imports from Venezuela (7.78% in 2013);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 2.25% of Russia’s total imports from Venezuela (0.00% in 2013);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.34% of Russia’s total imports from Venezuela (89.59% in 2013).
