Russia’s Trade with Vietnam

In 2014, Russia’s trade with Vietnam was $3,748,406,527, down 5.59% ($222,049,555) from 2013.

Russia’s exports to Vietnam in 2014 totaled $1,452,886,401, up 5.78% ($79,425,083) from 2013.

Russia’s imports from Vietnam in 2014 were $2,295,520,126, down 11.61% ($301,474,638) from 2013.

Russia’s trade deficit with Vietnam in 2014 was $842,633,725, a 31.13% decrease ($380,899,721) over 2013.

Vietnam was Russia’s 37th largest trading partner in 2014 (down from 33rd in 2013), accounting for 0.4788% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.4714% in 2013).

Vietnam was Russia’s 47th largest export market in 2014 (just as in 2013), accounting for 0.2924% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.2605% in 2013).

Vietnam was Russia’s 26th largest supplier in 2014 (just as in 2013), accounting for 0.8027% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.8245% in 2013).

Russia’s Exports to Vietnam

The major share of Russian exports to Vietnam in 2014 (and in 2013) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 52.65% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (48.13% in 2013);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 10.44% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (7.68% in 2013);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 8.67% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (5.19% in 2013);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 4.09% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (6.63% in 2013);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.97% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (4.88% in 2013);

  • Ores, slag and ash (HS code 26) - an increase of $6,297,844;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - an increase of $6,032,030.
