In 2015, Russia’s trade with Iceland was $153,638,808, down 44.12% ($121,318,237) from 2014.

Russia’s exports to Iceland in 2015 totaled $43,392,058, up 124.44% ($24,058,923) from 2014.

Russia’s imports from Iceland in 2015 were $110,246,750, down 56.87% ($145,377,160) from 2014.

Russia’s trade deficit with Iceland in 2015 was $66,854,692, a 71.71% decrease ($169,436,083) over 2014.

Iceland was Russia’s 102nd largest trading partner in 2015 (down from 97th in 2014), accounting for 0.0292% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0351% in 2014).

Iceland was Russia’s 120th largest export market in 2015 (up from 132nd in 2014), accounting for 0.0126% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0039% in 2014).

Iceland was Russia’s 78th largest supplier in 2015 (down from 69th in 2014), accounting for 0.0604% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0894% in 2014).

Russia’s Exports to Iceland

The major share of Russian exports to Iceland in 2015 (and in 2014) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 8.19% of Russia’s total exports to Iceland (3.92% in 2014);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 7.92% of Russia’s total exports to Iceland (28.20% in 2014);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 5.12% of Russia’s total exports to Iceland (5.97% in 2014);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 3.93% of Russia’s total exports to Iceland (8.75% in 2014);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 3.10% of Russia’s total exports to Iceland (0.59% in 2014);

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $1,103,092;
  • Fish and crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates (HS code 03) - an increase of $1,033,500;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $178,753.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Iceland in 2015 over 2014 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Ores, slag and ash (HS code 26) - a decrease of $1,626,817;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $409,814;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $390,986.

Russia’s Imports from Iceland

The major share of Russian imports from Iceland in 2015 (and in 2014) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 86.58% of Russia’s total imports from Iceland (93.69% in 2014);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 9.16% of Russia’s total imports from Iceland (3.87% in 2014);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 3.96% of Russia’s total imports from Iceland (2.26% in 2014).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Iceland in 2015 over 2014 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $3,806,293;
