Russia’s exports to Iraq in 2015 totaled $1,806,918,478, up 2.75% ($48,405,870) from 2014.

Russia’s imports from Iraq in 2015 totaled $123,746, up 809.09% ($110,134) from 2014.

Russia’s trade surplus with Iraq in 2015 was $1,806,794,732, a 2.75% increase ($48,295,736) over 2014.

Iraq was Russia’s 45th largest trading partner in 2015 (up from 52nd in 2014), accounting for 0.3434% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.2246% in 2014).

Iraq was Russia’s 39th largest export market in 2015 (down from 38th in 2014), accounting for 0.5259% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.3539% in 2014).

Iraq was Russia’s 164th largest supplier in 2015 (up from 193rd in 2014), accounting for 0.0001% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0000% in 2014).

Russia’s Exports to Iraq

The major share of Russian exports to Iraq in 2015 (and in 2014) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 10.24% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (7.30% in 2014);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 1.81% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (1.80% in 2014);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.33% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (2.57% in 2014);

  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $5,640,622.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Iraq in 2015 over 2014 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $28,947,167;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $21,857,088.
