Russia’s Trade with Peru

In 2015, Russia’s trade with Peru totaled $698,611,046, up 26.87% ($147,956,732) from 2014.

Russia’s exports to Peru in 2015 totaled $619,015,856, up 40.77% ($179,279,498) from 2014.

Russia’s imports from Peru in 2015 were $79,595,190, down 28.24% ($31,322,766) from 2014.

Russia’s trade surplus with Peru in 2015 was $539,420,666, a 64.05% increase ($210,602,264) over 2014.

Peru was Russia’s 70th largest trading partner in 2015 (up from 82nd in 2014), accounting for 0.1327% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0703% in 2014).

Peru was Russia’s 60th largest export market in 2015 (up from 72nd in 2014), accounting for 0.1802% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0885% in 2014).

Peru was Russia’s 83rd largest supplier in 2015 (down from 82nd in 2014), accounting for 0.0436% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0388% in 2014).

Russia’s Exports to Peru

The major share of Russian exports to Peru in 2015 (and in 2014) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 25.58% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (40.01% in 2014);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 6.63% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (11.23% in 2014);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 6.33% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (0.34% in 2014);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 2.67% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (10.18% in 2014);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.67% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (1.36% in 2014);

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Peru in 2015 over 2014 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $28,308,449;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $10,336,116;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $9,093,767;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $8,110,745.

Russia’s Imports from Peru

The major share of Russian imports from Peru in 2015 (and in 2014) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 89.41% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (84.67% in 2014);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.60% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (2.66% in 2014);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 4.50% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (7.34% in 2014);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 0.19% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (3.07% in 2014).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Peru in 2015 over 2014 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - an increase of $8,996,706;
  • Tanning or dyeing extracts; dyes, pigments, paints, varnishes, putty and mastics (HS code 32) - an increase of $1,102,045;
