Russia's Trade with Ghana

In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Ghana was $48,125,104, down 20.55% ($12,451,196) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Ghana in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $37,711,996, down 19.15% ($8,930,301) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Ghana in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $10,413,108, down 25.27% ($3,520,895) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade surplus with Ghana in the 1st quarter of 2016 was $27,298,888, a 16.54% decrease ($5,409,406) over the 1st quarter of 2015.

Ghana was Russia's 93th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 87th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0495% of Russia's total trade (up from 0.0458% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Ghana was Russia's 84th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 79th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0615% of Russia's total exports (up from 0.0517% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Ghana was Russia's 91st largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 87th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0290% of Russia's total imports (down from 0.0332% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The major share of Russian exports to Ghana in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 55.74% of Russia's total exports to Ghana (57.32% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 21.50% of Russia's total exports to Ghana (20.96% in the 1st quarter of 2015);

Russia's Imports from Ghana

The major share of Russian imports from Ghana in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 98.36% of Russia's total imports from Ghana (98.98% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.64% of Russia's total imports from Ghana (0.94% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's imports from Ghana in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Edible fruit and nuts; peel of citrus fruit or melons (HS code 08) - an increase of $123,393;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $49,440;
