Russia's Trade with Guatemala

In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Guatemala totaled $13,500,854, up 61.26% ($5,128,829) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Guatemala in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $10,253,025, up 60.76% ($3,875,291) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Guatemala in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $3,247,829, up 62.86% ($1,253,538) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade surplus with Guatemala in the 1st quarter of 2016 was $7,005,196, a 59.81% increase ($2,621,753) over the 1st quarter of 2015.

Guatemala was Russia's 115th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 127th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0114% of Russia's total trade (up from 0.0063% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Guatemala was Russia's 107th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 119th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0167% of Russia's total exports (up from 0.0071% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Guatemala was Russia's 104th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 113th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0090% of Russia's total imports (up from 0.0047% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Guatemala

The major share of Russian exports to Guatemala in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 91.02% of Russia's total exports to Guatemala (69.05% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 6.19% of Russia's total exports to Guatemala (23.56% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 1.80% of Russia's total exports to Guatemala (6.01% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 0.89% of Russia's total exports to Guatemala (1.07% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's exports to Guatemala in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $4,792,028;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $104,709;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $50,980.

The largest declines in Russia's exports to Guatemala in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $868,349;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $198,822.

Russia's Imports from Guatemala

The major share of Russian imports from Guatemala in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 96.56% of Russia's total imports from Guatemala (92.40% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 3.40% of Russia's total imports from Guatemala (7.37% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's imports from Guatemala in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Live trees and other plants; bulbs, roots and the like; cut flowers and ornamental foliage (HS code 06) - an increase of $12,201.

The largest declines in Russia's imports from Guatemala in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - a decrease of $83,430;
  • Edible fruit and nuts; peel of citrus fruit or melons (HS code 08) - a decrease of $67,870;
  • Articles of apparel and clothing accessories, not knitted or crocheted (HS code 62) - a decrease of $54,522.
