Russia's Trade with Peru

In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Peru was $64,425,078, down 4.35% ($2,930,483) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Peru in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $39,175,162, down 18.28% ($8,761,522) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Peru in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $25,249,916, up 30.03% ($5,831,039) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade surplus with Peru in the 1st quarter of 2016 was $13,925,246, a 51.17% decrease ($14,592,561) over the 1st quarter of 2015.

Peru was Russia's 87th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 86th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0662% of Russia's total trade (up from 0.0509% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Peru was Russia's 83rd largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 78th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0638% of Russia's total exports (up from 0.0531% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Peru was Russia's 77th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 83rd in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0703% of Russia's total imports (up from 0.0462% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Peru

The major share of Russian exports to Peru in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 48.66% of Russia's total exports to Peru (67.12% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 21.52% of Russia's total exports to Peru (0.03% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 13.55% of Russia's total exports to Peru (2.66% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 7.01% of Russia's total exports to Peru (19.80% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 5.09% of Russia's total exports to Peru (3.10% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.41% of Russia's total exports to Peru (6.96% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's exports to Peru in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $8,428,112;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $4,048,467;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $490,050;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - an increase of $267,581;
  • Man-made filaments (HS code 54) - an increase of $228,256;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $154,664.

The largest declines in Russia's exports to Peru in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $13,259,551;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $6,604,266;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $845,780;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $744,431;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $607,769;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - a decrease of $202,693;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $196,331;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $140,849.

Russia's Imports from Peru

The major share of Russian imports from Peru in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 82.19% of Russia's total imports from Peru (89.60% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 10.24% of Russia's total imports from Peru (2.73% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 5.39% of Russia's total imports from Peru (0.00% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 1.64% of Russia's total imports from Peru (7.17% in the 1st quarter of 2015).
