Russia's Trade with Sudan

In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Sudan totaled $54,120,496, up 51.91% ($18,494,876) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Sudan in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $54,092,211, up 52.59% ($18,642,287) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Sudan in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $28,285, down 83.90% ($147,411) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade surplus with Sudan in the 1st quarter of 2016 was $54,063,926, a 53.27% increase ($18,789,698) over the 1st quarter of 2015.

Sudan was Russia's 91st largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 100th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0556% of Russia's total trade (up from 0.0269% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Sudan was Russia's 75th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 85th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0881% of Russia's total exports (up from 0.0393% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Sudan was Russia's 151st largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 143th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0001% of Russia's total imports (down from 0.0004% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The major share of Russian exports to Sudan in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 97.29% of Russia's total exports to Sudan (81.26% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 0.50% of Russia's total exports to Sudan (2.84% in the 1st quarter of 2015);

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $4,258,797;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - a decrease of $1,225,888;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $550,188;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $399,435.

Russia's Imports from Sudan

The major share of Russian imports from Sudan in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 96.10% of Russia's total imports from Sudan (91.75% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 3.90% of Russia's total imports from Sudan (8.25% in the 1st quarter of 2015).
