Russia's Trade with Tunisia

In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Tunisia was $106,983,241, down 7.92% ($9,197,347) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Tunisia in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $79,306,284, down 10.68% ($9,485,603) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Tunisia in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $27,676,957, up 1.05% ($288,256) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade surplus with Tunisia in the 1st quarter of 2016 was $51,629,327, a 15.92% decrease ($9,773,859) over the 1st quarter of 2015.

Tunisia was Russia's 74th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 81st in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1099% of Russia's total trade (up from 0.0878% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Tunisia was Russia's 67th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 70th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1292% of Russia's total exports (up from 0.0984% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Tunisia was Russia's 73th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0770% of Russia's total imports (up from 0.0652% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Tunisia

The major share of Russian exports to Tunisia in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 44.20% of Russia's total exports to Tunisia (19.87% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 19.77% of Russia's total exports to Tunisia (0.55% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 19.52% of Russia's total exports to Tunisia (42.32% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 13.15% of Russia's total exports to Tunisia (36.09% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.43% of Russia's total exports to Tunisia (1.06% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - an increase of $12,502,144;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $4,910,479;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $1,993,869;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $767,020;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $615,186.

The largest declines in Russia's exports to Tunisia in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $22,170,207;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - a decrease of $14,715,114;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $6,667,228.

Russia's Imports from Tunisia

The major share of Russian imports from Tunisia in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 67.86% of Russia's total imports from Tunisia (71.48% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 17.03% of Russia's total imports from Tunisia (14.28% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 11.15% of Russia's total imports from Tunisia (11.32% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's imports from Tunisia in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:
