Russia's Trade with Zimbabwe

In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Zimbabwe totaled $21,419,081, up 202.55% ($14,339,551) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Zimbabwe in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $7,403,044, up 41,569.73% ($7,385,278) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Zimbabwe in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $14,016,037, up 98.48% ($6,954,273) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade deficit with Zimbabwe in the 1st quarter of 2016 was $6,612,993, a 6.12% decrease ($431,005) over the 1st quarter of 2015.

Zimbabwe was Russia's 110th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 130th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0220% of Russia's total trade (up from 0.0054% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Zimbabwe was Russia's 116th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 174th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.012063% of Russia's total exports (up from 0.00002% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Zimbabwe was Russia's 88th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 99th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0390% of Russia's total imports (up from 0.0168% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The major share of Russian exports to Zimbabwe in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 99.35% of Russia's total exports to Zimbabwe (0.00% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 0.00% of Russia's total exports to Zimbabwe (100.00% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's exports to Zimbabwe in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $7,325,400;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $47,861;
  • Preparations of meat, of fish or of crustaceans, molluscs or other aquatic invertebrates (HS code 16) - an increase of $29,783.

Russia's Imports from Zimbabwe

The major share of Russian imports from Zimbabwe in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 99.95% of Russia's total imports from Zimbabwe (99.80% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's imports from Zimbabwe in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $6,731,240;
  • Coffee, tea, maté and spices (HS code 09) - an increase of $199,916.
