Russia's Trade with Azerbaijan

In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Azerbaijan was $253,845,380, down 64.09% ($453,135,095) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Azerbaijan in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $200,545,535, down 68.36% ($433,357,490) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Azerbaijan in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $53,299,845, down 27.06% ($19,777,605) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade surplus with Azerbaijan in the 1st quarter of 2016 was $147,245,690, a 73.74% decrease ($413,579,885) over the 1st quarter of 2015.

Azerbaijan was Russia's 56th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 33rd in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.2609% of Russia's total trade (down from 0.5344% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Azerbaijan was Russia's 50th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 32nd in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.3268% of Russia's total exports (down from 0.7023% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Azerbaijan was Russia's 60th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 58th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1483% of Russia's total imports (down from 0.1739% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Azerbaijan

The major share of Russian exports to Azerbaijan in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 45.26% of Russia's total exports to Azerbaijan (30.76% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 18.48% of Russia's total exports to Azerbaijan (14.75% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 10.49% of Russia's total exports to Azerbaijan (3.66% in the 1st quarter of 2015);

  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 9.61% of Russia's total imports from Azerbaijan (6.05% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
