Russia's Trade with Iceland

In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Iceland was $10,354,452, down 74.75% ($30,660,545) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Iceland in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $6,675,158, up 82.03% ($3,008,001) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Iceland in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $3,679,294, down 90.15% ($33,668,546) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade with Iceland went from a deficit of $33,680,683 in the 1st quarter of 2015, to a surplus of $2,995,864 in the 1st quarter of 2016.

Iceland was Russia's 121st largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 98th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0106% of Russia's total trade (down from 0.0310% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Iceland was Russia's 117th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 124th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0109% of Russia's total exports (up from 0.0041% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest declines in Russia's exports to Iceland in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

Russia's Imports from Iceland

The major share of Russian imports from Iceland in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 22.65% of Russia's total imports from Iceland (92.23% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 20.95% of Russia's total imports from Iceland (3.42% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
