Russia's Trade with Indonesia

In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Indonesia totaled $638,583,464, up 13.49% ($75,894,704) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Indonesia in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $106,280,240, down 42.28% ($77,837,700) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Indonesia in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $532,303,224, up 40.61% ($153,732,404) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade deficit with Indonesia in the 1st quarter of 2016 was $426,022,984, a 119.09% increase ($231,570,104) over the 1st quarter of 2015.

Indonesia was Russia's 30th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 41st in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.6563% of Russia's total trade (up from 0.4253% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Indonesia was Russia's 60th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 56th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1732% of Russia's total exports (down from 0.2040% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Indonesia was Russia's 16th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 27th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 1.4812% of Russia's total imports (up from 0.9007% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Indonesia

The major share of Russian exports to Indonesia in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 43.99% of Russia's total exports to Indonesia (41.53% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 37.18% of Russia's total exports to Indonesia (47.33% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 13.74% of Russia's total exports to Indonesia (7.76% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.96% of Russia's total exports to Indonesia (2.42% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's exports to Indonesia in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Coffee, tea, maté and spices (HS code 09) - an increase of $812,927;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $745,375;
  • Lead and articles thereof (HS code 78) - an increase of $673,036;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $324,568.

The largest declines in Russia's exports to Indonesia in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $44,342,048;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $29,908,760;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $3,284,019;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $1,225,696;
  • Sugars and sugar confectionery (HS code 17) - a decrease of $1,175,636;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $377,666;
  • Other base metals; cermets; articles thereof (HS code 81) - a decrease of $354,463.

Russia's Imports from Indonesia

The major share of Russian imports from Indonesia in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 43.04% of Russia's total imports from Indonesia (20.90% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 36.10% of Russia's total imports from Indonesia (52.55% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 8.98% of Russia's total imports from Indonesia (10.71% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
