Russia's Trade with Ireland

In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Ireland totaled $301,955,028, up 37.52% ($82,379,505) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Ireland in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $119,498,153, up 105.12% ($61,241,009) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Ireland in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $182,456,875, up 13.10% ($21,138,496) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade deficit with Ireland in the 1st quarter of 2016 was $62,958,722, a 38.91% decrease ($40,102,513) over the 1st quarter of 2015.

Ireland was Russia's 50th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 61st in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.3103% of Russia's total trade (up from 0.1660% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Ireland was Russia's 57th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 74th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1947% of Russia's total exports (up from 0.0645% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Ireland was Russia's 36th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 39th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.5077% of Russia's total imports (up from 0.3838% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Ireland

The major share of Russian exports to Ireland in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 20.92% of Russia's total exports to Ireland (64.88% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 16.89% of Russia's total exports to Ireland (28.38% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 1.87% of Russia's total exports to Ireland (2.21% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.22% of Russia's total exports to Ireland (2.04% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 0.29% of Russia's total exports to Ireland (2.07% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's exports to Ireland in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $3,651,405;
  • Residues and waste from the food industries; prepared animal feed (HS code 23) - an increase of $1,111,770.

The largest declines in Russia's exports to Ireland in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $12,855,058;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $833,641.

Russia's Imports from Ireland

The major share of Russian imports from Ireland in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 61.84% of Russia's total imports from Ireland (52.85% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 22.08% of Russia's total imports from Ireland (29.56% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 12.84% of Russia's total imports from Ireland (14.08% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's imports from Ireland in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Toys, games and sports requisites; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 95) - an increase of $749,387;
  • Preparations of cereals, flour, starch or milk; bakers’ wares (HS code 19) - an increase of $669,408.

The largest declines in Russia's imports from Ireland in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $6,220,796;
  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - a decrease of $5,751,488;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $606,291.
