Russia's Trade with Jordan

In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Jordan totaled $73,969,093, up 55.33% ($26,348,697) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $70,678,019, up 78.42% ($31,065,825) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $3,291,074, down 58.90% ($4,717,128) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade surplus with Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2016 was $67,386,945, a 113.22% increase ($35,782,953) over the 1st quarter of 2015.

Jordan was Russia's 82nd largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 92nd in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0760% of Russia's total trade (up from 0.0360% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Jordan was Russia's 70th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 84th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1152% of Russia's total exports (up from 0.0439% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Jordan was Russia's 103rd largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 97th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0092% of Russia's total imports (down from 0.0191% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Jordan

The major share of Russian exports to Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 46.92% of Russia's total exports to Jordan (57.70% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 5.72% of Russia's total exports to Jordan (34.28% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.74% of Russia's total exports to Jordan (3.62% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's exports to Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $10,467,842;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $515,738;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $279,248;
  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - an increase of $261,355;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $233,859.

The largest declines in Russia's exports to Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $9,548,076;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - a decrease of $506,070.

Russia's Imports from Jordan

The major share of Russian imports from Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 53.44% of Russia's total imports from Jordan (78.35% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 42.08% of Russia's total imports from Jordan (20.86% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 2.72% of Russia's total imports from Jordan (0.35% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.21% of Russia's total imports from Jordan (0.02% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's imports from Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

The largest declines in Russia's imports from Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - a decrease of $4,209,603;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - a decrease of $1,532,857;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $256,155;
  • Tanning or dyeing extracts; dyes, pigments, paints, varnishes, putty and mastics (HS code 32) - a decrease of $141,468;
  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - a decrease of $17,983;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $15,840.
