Russia's Trade with Mongolia

In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Mongolia was $183,566,208, down 27.41% ($69,305,650) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Mongolia in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $176,219,865, down 27.62% ($67,259,117) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Mongolia in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $7,346,343, down 21.79% ($2,046,533) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade surplus with Mongolia in the 1st quarter of 2016 was $168,873,522, a 27.86% decrease ($65,212,584) over the 1st quarter of 2015.

Mongolia was Russia's 59th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 57th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1886% of Russia's total trade (down from 0.1911% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Mongolia was Russia's 51st largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 46th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.2872% of Russia's total exports (up from 0.2697% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Mongolia was Russia's 95th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 94th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0204% of Russia's total imports (down from 0.0223% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Mongolia

The major share of Russian exports to Mongolia in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 63.75% of Russia's total exports to Mongolia (76.22% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 20.29% of Russia's total exports to Mongolia (10.76% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 6.12% of Russia's total exports to Mongolia (3.33% in the 1st quarter of 2015);

The largest declines in Russia's exports to Mongolia in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:
