Russia's Trade with Slovenia

In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Slovenia was $179,587,789, down 17.90% ($39,150,745) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Slovenia in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $29,253,674, up 7.72% ($2,096,427) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Slovenia in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $150,334,115, down 21.53% ($41,247,172) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade deficit with Slovenia in the 1st quarter of 2016 was $121,080,441, a 26.36% decrease ($43,343,599) over the 1st quarter of 2015.

Slovenia was Russia's 60th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 62nd in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1846% of Russia's total trade (up from 0.1653% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Slovenia was Russia's 91st largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 94th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0477% of Russia's total exports (up from 0.0301% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Slovenia was Russia's 40th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 34th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.4183% of Russia's total imports (down from 0.4558% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Slovenia

The major share of Russian exports to Slovenia in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 57.75% of Russia's total exports to Slovenia (40.79% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 28.51% of Russia's total exports to Slovenia (41.79% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 7.73% of Russia's total exports to Slovenia (6.38% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.52% of Russia's total exports to Slovenia (2.75% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.49% of Russia's total exports to Slovenia (3.68% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 1.15% of Russia's total exports to Slovenia (3.24% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's exports to Slovenia in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $5,818,144;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - an increase of $4,370,695;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $333,943;
  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - an increase of $318,142;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - an increase of $155,237.

The largest declines in Russia's exports to Slovenia in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Nickel and articles thereof (HS code 75) - a decrease of $4,875,464;
  • Lead and articles thereof (HS code 78) - a decrease of $1,117,184;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $840,069;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $580,804;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - a decrease of $314,917;
  • Products of animal origin, not elsewhere specified or included (HS code 05) - a decrease of $311,866;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $282,000;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - a decrease of $233,319;
  • Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - a decrease of $188,801;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $112,315.

Russia's Imports from Slovenia

The major share of Russian imports from Slovenia in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 24.75% of Russia's total imports from Slovenia (28.87% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 6.40% of Russia's total imports from Slovenia (4.44% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 4.89% of Russia's total imports from Slovenia (3.56% in the 1st quarter of 2015);

  • Preparations of cereals, flour, starch or milk; bakers’ wares (HS code 19) - an increase of $623,833.

The largest declines in Russia's imports from Slovenia in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - a decrease of $18,814,872;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $12,103,695;
