Russia's Trade with the Philippines

In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with the Philippines was $76,034,107, down 47.08% ($67,630,376) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to the Philippines in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $24,562,465, down 74.79% ($72,881,530) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from the Philippines in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $51,471,642, up 11.36% ($5,251,154) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade with the Philippines went from a surplus of $51,223,507 in the 1st quarter of 2015, to a deficit of $26,909,177 in the 1st quarter of 2016.

The Philippines was Russia's 81st largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 73rd in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0781% of Russia's total trade (down from 0.1086% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The Philippines was Russia's 94th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 68th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0400% of Russia's total exports (down from 0.1080% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The Philippines was Russia's 61st largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 63rd in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1432% of Russia's total imports (up from 0.1100% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to the Philippines

The major share of Russian exports to the Philippines in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 69.35% of Russia's total exports to the Philippines (84.98% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 25.77% of Russia's total exports to the Philippines (5.46% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 3.74% of Russia's total exports to the Philippines (0.99% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 0.80% of Russia's total exports to the Philippines (7.57% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's exports to the Philippines in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $881,956;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $200,668;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - an increase of $196,421;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $143,054.

The largest declines in Russia's exports to the Philippines in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $65,610,788;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $7,375,254;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $634,624;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $256,877;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $218,806;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $157,899;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $95,046.

Russia's Imports from the Philippines

The major share of Russian imports from the Philippines in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 74.71% of Russia's total imports from the Philippines (67.42% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 10.78% of Russia's total imports from the Philippines (13.19% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 7.60% of Russia's total imports from the Philippines (11.36% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 4.61% of Russia's total imports from the Philippines (4.40% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's imports from the Philippines in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $2,623,467;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $1,742,866;
  • Articles of apparel and clothing accessories, knitted or crocheted (HS code 61) - an increase of $391,809;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - an increase of $224,480;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $186,948.

The largest declines in Russia's imports from the Philippines in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Edible fruit and nuts; peel of citrus fruit or melons (HS code 08) - a decrease of $1,568,076;

  • Miscellaneous manufactured articles (HS code 96) - a decrease of $646,683;
