Russia's Trade with Turkmenistan

In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Turkmenistan was $174,991,355, down 14.63% ($29,995,130) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Turkmenistan in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $153,557,535, down 21.06% ($40,959,710) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Turkmenistan in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $21,433,820, up 104.73% ($10,964,580) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade surplus with Turkmenistan in the 1st quarter of 2016 was $132,123,715, a 28.21% decrease ($51,924,290) over the 1st quarter of 2015.

Turkmenistan was Russia's 61st largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 64th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1798% of Russia's total trade (up from 0.1549% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Turkmenistan was Russia's 53rd largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.2502% of Russia's total exports (up from 0.2155% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Turkmenistan was Russia's 80th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 91st in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0596% of Russia's total imports (up from 0.0249% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Turkmenistan

The major share of Russian exports to Turkmenistan in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 43.51% of Russia's total exports to Turkmenistan (46.78% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 17.94% of Russia's total exports to Turkmenistan (16.71% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 17.37% of Russia's total exports to Turkmenistan (16.67% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 11.74% of Russia's total exports to Turkmenistan (5.89% in the 1st quarter of 2015);

  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - an increase of $2,390,072;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - an increase of $898,928;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $801,750;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - an increase of $795,877;
  • Beverages, spirits and vinegar (HS code 22) - an increase of $741,516;
