Russia's Trade with Chile

In the 2nd quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Chile was $163,765,840, down 20.71% ($42,765,800) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Chile in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $9,520,812, down 54.36% ($11,341,672) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Chile in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $154,245,028, down 16.92% ($31,424,128) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade deficit with Chile in the 2nd quarter of 2016 was $144,724,216, a 12.19% decrease ($20,082,456) over the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Chile was Russia's 70th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (down from 66th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1505% of Russia's total trade (down from 0.1515% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Chile was Russia's 109th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (down from 102nd in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0143% of Russia's total exports (down from 0.0228% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Chile was Russia's 48th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (down from 40th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.3639% of Russia's total imports (down from 0.4145% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Chile

The major share of Russian exports to Chile in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 37.85% of Russia's total exports to Chile (34.19% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 19.26% of Russia's total exports to Chile (8.14% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 16.73% of Russia's total exports to Chile (7.14% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 15.08% of Russia's total exports to Chile (47.47% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 4.95% of Russia's total exports to Chile (0.41% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 4.50% of Russia's total exports to Chile (1.04% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 1.16% of Russia's total exports to Chile (0.02% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's exports to Chile in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $1,811,326;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $547,305;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - an increase of $183,309;
  • Preparations of vegetables, fruit, nuts or other parts of plants (HS code 20) - an increase of $178,334;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $177,324;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $120,479;
  • Man-made filaments (HS code 54) - an increase of $103,913;
  • Products of the milling industry; malt; starches; inulin; wheat gluten (HS code 11) - an increase of $77,817;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - an increase of $40,212.

The largest declines in Russia's exports to Chile in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $8,507,488;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $2,170,198;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $1,659,937;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $1,479,602;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $444,319;
  • Glass and glassware (HS code 70) - a decrease of $292,456;
  • Beverages, spirits and vinegar (HS code 22) - a decrease of $75,456.

Russia's Imports from Chile

The major share of Russian imports from Chile in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 91.43% of Russia's total imports from Chile (91.80% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.47% of Russia's total imports from Chile (2.61% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 2.46% of Russia's total imports from Chile (5.12% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's imports from Chile in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:
