Russia's Trade with Cyprus

In the 2nd quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Cyprus was $69,331,589, down 11.12% ($8,674,982) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Cyprus in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $64,115,784, down 5.53% ($3,751,769) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Cyprus in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $5,215,805, down 48.56% ($4,923,213) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade surplus with Cyprus in the 2nd quarter of 2016 was $58,899,979, a 2.03% increase ($1,171,444) over the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Cyprus was Russia's 84th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 86th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0637% of Russia's total trade (up from 0.0572% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Cyprus was Russia's 72nd largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 73rd in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0965% of Russia's total exports (up from 0.0741% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Cyprus was Russia's 99th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (down from 96th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0123% of Russia's total imports (down from 0.0226% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Cyprus

The major share of Russian exports to Cyprus in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 67.07% of Russia's total exports to Cyprus (75.97% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 15.56% of Russia's total exports to Cyprus (0.37% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 7.55% of Russia's total exports to Cyprus (2.36% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 5.91% of Russia's total exports to Cyprus (7.54% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.33% of Russia's total exports to Cyprus (8.49% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.42% of Russia's total exports to Cyprus (4.15% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's exports to Cyprus in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Soap, organic surface-active agents, washing preparations, lubricating preparations, artificial waxes, prepared waxes, polishing or scouring preparations, candles and similar articles, modeling pastes, "dental waxes" and dental preparations with a basis of plaster (HS code 34) - an increase of $8,571,224;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $2,525,189;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $1,025,027;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $831,199;
  • Residues and waste from the food industries; prepared animal feed (HS code 23) - an increase of $654,625;
  • Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - an increase of $554,820;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $473,854;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - an increase of $209,378.

The largest declines in Russia's exports to Cyprus in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $8,555,266;
  • Ships, boats and floating structures (HS code 89) - a decrease of $5,000,000;
  • Printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry; manuscripts, typescripts and plans (HS code 49) - a decrease of $2,171,553;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $1,432,193;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $772,402;
  • Toys, games and sports requisites; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 95) - a decrease of $221,464;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $203,288.

Russia's Imports from Cyprus

The major share of Russian imports from Cyprus in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 54.21% of Russia's total imports from Cyprus (22.32% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 36.56% of Russia's total imports from Cyprus (72.23% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 5.51% of Russia's total imports from Cyprus (2.94% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 1.86% of Russia's total imports from Cyprus (1.85% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $72,320;
  • Toys, games and sports requisites; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 95) - an increase of $56,283.

The largest declines in Russia's imports from Cyprus in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:
