Russia's Trade with Ethiopia

In the 2nd quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Ethiopia totaled $19,209,518, up 153.53% ($11,632,661) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Ethiopia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 totaled $16,042,589, up 529.03% ($13,492,225) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Ethiopia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $3,166,929, down 37.00% ($1,859,564) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade with Ethiopia went from a deficit of $2,476,129 in the 2nd quarter of 2015, to a surplus of $12,875,660 in the 2nd quarter of 2016.

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 3.90% of Russia's total exports to Ethiopia (87.27% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);

  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $147,882;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $60,514.

The largest declines in Russia's exports to Ethiopia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $836,794;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $616,460;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $532,249;
  • Pulp of wood or of other fibrous cellulosic material; waste and scrap of paper or paperboard (HS code 47) - a decrease of $134,102;
  • Beverages, spirits and vinegar (HS code 22) - a decrease of $91,043.

Russia's Imports from Ethiopia
