Russia's Trade with Luxembourg

In the 2nd quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Luxembourg totaled $49,919,752, up 21.16% ($8,719,310) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Luxembourg in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $9,434,991, down 28.25% ($3,715,109) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Luxembourg in the 2nd quarter of 2016 totaled $40,484,761, up 44.33% ($12,434,419) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade deficit with Luxembourg in the 2nd quarter of 2016 was $31,049,770, a 108.38% increase ($16,149,528) over the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Luxembourg was Russia's 93rd largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 100th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0459% of Russia's total trade (up from 0.0302% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Luxembourg was Russia's 111th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (down from 108th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0142% of Russia's total exports (down from 0.0144% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Luxembourg was Russia's 70th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 73rd in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0955% of Russia's total imports (up from 0.0626% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Luxembourg

The major share of Russian exports to Luxembourg in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 78.18% of Russia's total exports to Luxembourg (84.70% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 13.40% of Russia's total exports to Luxembourg (9.11% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 2.49% of Russia's total exports to Luxembourg (4.19% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.43% of Russia's total exports to Luxembourg (1.95% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's exports to Luxembourg in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Glass and glassware (HS code 70) - an increase of $274,737;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - an increase of $130,252;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $46,838.

The largest declines in Russia's exports to Luxembourg in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $3,760,910;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $232,325;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - a decrease of $97,164;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $82,441.

Russia's Imports from Luxembourg

The major share of Russian imports from Luxembourg in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 31.62% of Russia's total imports from Luxembourg (16.97% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 23.78% of Russia's total imports from Luxembourg (40.98% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 20.65% of Russia's total imports from Luxembourg (15.41% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 16.97% of Russia's total imports from Luxembourg (17.32% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);

  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - an increase of $416,555;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $239,440;

  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - an increase of $132,639.

The largest declines in Russia's imports from Luxembourg in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - a decrease of $2,097,190;
  • Tanning or dyeing extracts; dyes, pigments, paints, varnishes, putty and mastics (HS code 32) - a decrease of $410,423;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $295,778.
