Russia's Trade with Tunisia

In the 2nd quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Tunisia totaled $121,408,424, up 51.95% ($41,508,962) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Tunisia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 totaled $97,619,094, up 65.16% ($38,515,029) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Tunisia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 totaled $23,789,330, up 14.40% ($2,993,933) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade surplus with Tunisia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 was $73,829,764, a 92.72% increase ($35,521,096) over the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Tunisia was Russia's 73rd largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 85th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1115% of Russia's total trade (up from 0.0586% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Tunisia was Russia's 62nd largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 78th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1469% of Russia's total exports (up from 0.0646% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Tunisia was Russia's 80th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 85th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0561% of Russia's total imports (up from 0.0464% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Tunisia

The major share of Russian exports to Tunisia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 72.78% of Russia's total exports to Tunisia (13.54% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 18.18% of Russia's total exports to Tunisia (24.60% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.74% of Russia's total exports to Tunisia (6.18% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.33% of Russia's total exports to Tunisia (5.06% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 1.51% of Russia's total exports to Tunisia (50.57% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's exports to Tunisia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $68,601,882;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $9,048,368;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $568,235;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $568,108.

The largest declines in Russia's exports to Tunisia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $28,729,187;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $5,814,515;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $5,558,373;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $951,651;
  • Pulp of wood or of other fibrous cellulosic material; waste and scrap of paper or paperboard (HS code 47) - a decrease of $333,810.

Russia's Imports from Tunisia
